RBC Capital Markets Appoints Edwin C. Moses to Head Renewable and Alternative Energy in Its Infrastructure and Project Finance Group

Firm Continues Aggressive Expansion of U.S. Infrastructure Finance Platform

NEW YORK, February 2, 2007 - RBC Capital Markets today announced that it has further bolstered its U.S. Infrastructure and Project Finance Group with the appointment of Edwin C. Moses to spearhead its renewable and alternative energy business in the U.S. The appointment is the latest step in the firm's continued growth of its infrastructure and project finance business and comes on the heels of several recent expansions for the business in the U.S. and globally.

Moses, who joins RBC Capital Markets in New York as a director, is the firm's seventh senior addition to its U.S. Infrastructure and Project Finance practice in the past 12 months. The moves build on the firm's longstanding project finance capabilities in the UK, Europe and Canada, as well as the establishment of a dedicated team in Australia last August.

"Edwin's industry experience and capabilities will be of great benefit to our clients," said John Hastings, Head of RBC Capital Markets' U.S. Infrastructure and Project Finance Group. "Edwin's background in development and tax syndication, and across wind, solar and other renewable and alternative energies, strengthens the bank's strong global practice in this space and provides a dimension to the business that few other firms can offer."

RBC Capital Markets maintains a strong international renewable energy business and is a long established leader in the industry in the UK, Europe and Canada, with a notable track record in both debt and equity advisory and placement. The firm is ranked by Infrastructure Journal as the top adviser to the renewable sector for 2006. In the U.S., RBC Capital Markets' renewables practice will be augmented by its top rated municipal markets and public finance platform and a growing tax equity syndication business.

"We are delighted that Edwin is joining our Global Renewables platform in the U.S, adding to the significant established businesses we have in Europe and Canada," said Dai Clement, RBC Capital Markets' Head of Utilities & Environmental Services, Infrastructure, Europe. "Investors in this sector are increasingly developing assets in multi-jurisdictions, and the addition of Edwin will allow us to provide our clients with a leading investment banking service on a global basis in this key growth sector."

Moses has worked in renewable energy development and finance for 10 years, most recently as a consultant with SunEdison LLC in Baltimore, where he consulted on the development and lead-managed the financing of large U.S. solar projects and portfolios. Previously, he was a managing director of Marathon Capital's Tax Advantaged Renewable Fund and prior to that served as senior director of Project Finance for Clipper Windpower. During his career, Moses has worked in project finance, power marketing, wind turbine sales, and wind energy development in North America and Europe. He received a BA with Honors in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Texas, Austin.
