Technology Group (Fixed Income & Risk Development) Summer Internship - United States

 

Group Description

The Technology Group develops and manages innovative technology solutions for RBC Capital Markets fixed income business and risk management functions. This team's solutions generally calculate real-time and on-demand prices and market risk. We enable end-users to view prices, maintain pricing parameters, view aggregated risk and perform different scenario calculations. We develop and manage a platform that aggregates and integrates various products, pricing models and investment tools into a single platform.

 

Education Requirements

- Hands on experience with object oriented languages and design patterns (Java) is a must.
- Experience with UI development
- Strong computer science fundamentals (i.e. data structures, algorithms, threading)

- This internship is typically best suited with individuals enrolled in Computer Science or Engineering programs majors and also have some familiarity or minor in Finance.

 

Position Description

Based in New York, the Intern will work closely with RBC Capital Markets' Business Analysts to develop innovative and effective IT solutions that drive business results. They will assist in the design and implementation of various application components, as part of a team, working along side RBC Capital Markets' technology professionals. He/she will also work closely with our QA team to ensure the high standard for all this group's products is maintained. This position runs from June to mid-August.
