Sydney, November 6, 2008 - RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE), today announced the appointment of Richard Barker as Head of Global Investment Banking, Australia, based in RBC's Sydney office. Richard will spearhead RBC's growing mining investment banking business in Australia and Asia.
Barker joins RBC Capital Markets with more than 20 years investment banking and corporate advisory experience, including 10 years at NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Ltd, where he was Executive Director, Mergers & Acquisitions. He has advised corporate clients on a broad array of transactions across multiple product lines including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and debt and equity financings.
