RBC CAPITAL MARKETS FORMS NEW AUTOMOTIVE INVESTMENT BANKING GROUP

Hires Justin Mirro, Industry Veteran, to Lead Team

NEW YORK - 13 June 2011 - RBC Capital Markets today announced the appointment of Justin Mirro as Managing Director and Head of its newly formed U.S. Automotive Investment Banking group, serving the global auto industry and based out of New York.

Mirro joins RBC from Moelis & Company where he was a Partner and Head of its Automotive group for three years. Prior to that, Mirro ran the Automotive group at Jefferies & Company. He began his career in 1988 as an engineer for General Motors and then spent two years with Toyota in Japan.

“We are very pleased that Justin has joined our expanding banking platform,” said Blair Fleming, RBC Capital Markets’ Head of U.S. Investment Banking. “Justin’s experience in the automotive industry, together with the deep relationships he has built in the sector, aligns perfectly with our growth designs both in this sector and more broadly.”

RBC has a long history of covering the automotive industry, in part, given the importance of the Canadian market for manufacturing and distribution. With the growth in RBC’s U.S. Investment Banking platform, RBC has recently served in advisory roles and lead financing roles for several major global automotive companies and manufacturers. RBC is also a leading lender to the sector. With the formation of a dedicated Automotive Investment Banking group in the U.S., RBC looks to leverage its existing coverage and lending platform and focus its advisory services and capital to large and mid-cap automotive clients as well as supporting financial sponsor-backed acquisitions and divestitures.

RBC Capital Markets’ Investment Banking division currently covers 13 industries from the U.S., including: Aerospace & Defense / Government Services; Automotive; Communications, Media & Entertainment; Consumer & Retail; Energy; Financial Institutions; Industrials & Diversified Services; Infrastructure; Healthcare; Power & Utilities; Real Estate; Technology; and Transportation. Since January 2010, the group has added over 130 professionals in the U.S.
