On July 18, over 20 women from RBC Capital Markets Canada spent an inspiring afternoon at Toronto’s Interval House, Canada’s first centre for abused women and children. The visit was scheduled following the strong results from this year’s global RBC Trade for the Kids, which supported over 40 youth-focused charities globally. As one of the charities selected by RBC employees, Interval House received a $105,000 donation. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the house, participate in a volunteer activity and present the donation cheque. They also learned more about the Building Economic Self-Sufficiency (BESS) program that is supported by RBC Capital Markets. The BESS program provides women with the tools to rebuild and transform their lives by facilitating access to education, training, financial and housing assistance, as well as other practical solutions.
