On October 6th, RBC Capital Markets proudly sponsored Humour Me, a competitive night of laughs in support of non-profit organizations, which brings together corporate and financial executives in Toronto to perform stand-up in front of a live audience and raise money for charitable organizations.

RBC Capital Markets is especially proud or our support this year as our very own Ram Amarnath, Global Co-Head of Financial Sponsors, Global Investment Banking bravely took the stage to perform.

“When I was presented with the opportunity to do this charity comedy event, I knew it was going to be challenging but I also knew it was in line with our purpose to help our communities prosper,” said Ram. “I quickly saw it as a chance to do something for a good cause, as well as something extremely outside my comfort zone. And having constantly challenged my kids to do the same, I had to lead by example.”

Ram devoted a significant amount of time in fundraising to remarkably raise a staggering C$370,000 in donations. In total, the event raised C$1.3million for SickKids Foundation, specifically for the Slaight Family Integrated Mental Health unit.
