During the RBC Technology, Internet, Multimedia and Telecommunications Conference, U.S. Head of Research at RBC Capital Markets Marc Harris spoke to Cheddar TV about the evolution of equity research over the last decade. He discussed how RBC has evolved into a top 10 research firm in the industry. Harris says the trick to getting ahead is Big Data science - one way RBC has grown is through the investment in a team of data scientists. He adds that artificial intelligence is beginning to play a significant role in research, but does not anticipate it would replace human analysts.
