Chief Executive Officer, ING Group
Mr. Ralph A. Hamers is a Chief Executive Officer at ING Group, a Chairman-Executive Board at ING Group NV, and a Chairman-Management Board at ING Bank NV, a Director-Young People Agenda at United Nations Children's Fund, a Member-Management Board at Dutch Banking Association and a Member-Management Board at NN Insurance Eurasia NV.
He is on the Board of Directors at The Institute of International Finance, Inc. and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
He was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 13 May 2013. On 1 October 2013, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of this Board. He joined ING in 1991. Before his appointment to the Executive Board, he was CEO of ING Belgium and Luxembourg.
Mr. Hamers was previously employed as a Member-Supervisory Board by NN Group NV, a Chief Executive Officer by ING Belgium SA, a Chief Executive Officer by ING Luxembourg SA, a Head-Sales Network by ING Wholesale Banking, a Chief Executive Officer by Ing Bank Nederland NV, a Chief Executive Officer by ING Romania, and a Member-Supervisory Board by Bank Slaski SA.
He received his graduate degree from the University of Tilburg and a graduate degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
