In early April, RBC Capital Markets celebrated the 30th annual Skate with the Greats with two days of exciting events! Skate with the Greats raises awareness and significant funds for Ronald McDonald House New York, which provides critical support for families and children who are battling pediatric cancer and other serious illnesses.

On Monday, April 1, New York Rangers’ great Henrik Lundqvist joined us to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

RBC Capital Markets was honored to serve as the title sponsor of the event, which raised more than $700,000 adding to the total of $10.5 million raised through this event since 2010.

“Our partnership with Ronald McDonald House began as a grassroots effort in New York City and has expanded to a remarkable global relationship we’re so proud of today,” said Derek Neldner, CEO and Group Head of RBC Capital Markets.  “We are excited to be a part of such a special event for which proceeds help keep the Ronald McDonald House New York’s doors open and dedicated to their mission.”

“This year’s Skate with the Greats was truly unforgettable, as we gathered in support of our families battling pediatric cancer and other serious illnesses,” said Dr. Ruth C. Browne, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House New York. “As the second largest fundraiser for RMH-NY each year, these crucial funds enable us to ensure all families have access to the care and support they need during the most critical time of their lives. We are grateful for the continued support from our lead sponsor RBC Capital Markets who stepped in during the financial crisis when RMH-NY and the children were in great need of support and led the Skate with the Greats. Fifteen years later, their steadfast leadership and commitment through initiatives including this event, running the NYC Marathon, helping support the execution of our digital strategy, serving dinners at the house and bonding with the children and families, truly sets their culture apart. We are grateful for such a special partner.”

RBC Capital Markets is committed to making a positive and measurable impact on the communities in which we live and work, and supporting youth is one of our key initiatives.
