RBC Capital Markets Canada Pathways Diversity Award Program - Canada

RBC Capital Markets is committed to advancing diversity and strengthening inclusion in the workplace. In support of this commitment, RBC is proud to offer the RBC Pathways Diversity Award Program in Canada, which aims to invest in, hire, and retain outstanding undergraduate students who identify as Black and/or as an Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) person of Canada studying full-time at a Canadian university/college, and who are passionate about pursuing a full-time career in Capital Markets.

Select applicants will advance to interviews, and successful candidates will earn a C$10,000* financial award, executive sponsorship, and an offer to join the Global Investment Banking or Global Markets Summer Analyst Program in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver.

Eligibility

Please read the following eligibility requirements and application instructions carefully before submitting; incomplete applications will not be accepted.

  • You are an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at a Canadian college or university
  • You will graduate between December 2025 and June 2026
  • You self-identify as Black and/or an Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) person of Canada
  • You have a strong academic record, varied extra-curricular participation, and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance upon graduation
  • You are available to join a full-time summer internship program running May to August 2025
  • You are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer up to and including August 2025

*This opportunity is open to eligible students from all academic programs; STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) students are encouraged to apply.

Application Requirements

To submit a complete application, please prepare the following three items in PDF file format and upload them under the “Supporting Documentation” section of the online application form:

  1. Your updated, one page resume (PDF format) including your cumulative GPA
  2. Your one page cover letter (PDF format) detailing your interest in a career in Investment Banking or Global Markets with RBC Capital Markets
  3. Your official or unofficial academic transcripts (PDF format) of any post-secondary semesters completed to date, including your Fall 2023 grades. If it is not possible to receive an official transcript by the application deadline, please include an unofficial transcript

All eligible students interested in learning more about RBC Pathways are invited to RSVP for one of the following virtual info sessions. RSVP here by January 21, 11:59pm ET; event details will be shared 1-2 business days in advance.

  • January 29, 12pm ET – organized for candidates who self-identify as Black
  • January 31, 12pm ET – organized for candidates who self-identify as an Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and/or Métis) person of Canada

Timeline & Selection Process

We appreciate all student interest and application submissions for our scholarships. The applicant review and selection processes are highly competitive.

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by a team of business leaders at RBC Capital Markets
  • Application deadline: February 20, 2024, 11:59pm ET
  • Next Steps: Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a webinar and complete a short assessment; select applicants will advance to first round interviews; select first round candidates will advance to final round interviews*. Successful candidates will join the 2025 Summer Analyst Program in Investment Banking or Global Markets; the C$10,000 financial award will be paid to each successful candidate at the start of their summer internship

RBC Capital Markets U.S. Pathways Diversity Award Program

RBC Pathways is a selective, multi-month early insight and mentorship program for Sophomores, committed to the advancement of individuals from historically underrepresented groups within Capital Markets. RBC Pathways is seeking Sophomores enrolled full-time at U.S. colleges and universities, including without limitation, students of Black, African American, Hispanic, Latinx, and/or Native American descent, who are passionate about pursuing careers in Capital Markets and interested in exploring Junior year summer internship opportunities.

The program supports participants as they explore careers in Capital Markets with our award-winning businesses in Banking (including Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Municipal Finance), Global Markets (including Global Research, Origination and Sales & Trading), and Technology.

In summary, as a program participant, you will gain:

  • Early Access and Exposure - structured program featuring in-office* and virtual sessions, senior leader talks, and networking events to introduce you to career paths within Capital Markets
  • Mentorship Support - coaching from RBC employees in your preferred business area to foster a deeper understanding of the firm and industry as you navigate your career path
  • Summer Internship Opportunities - all participants will be considered for the 2026 New York summer internship interview process
  • Executive sponsorship – a trusted senior leader who will provide you with insight, support, and guidance should you join the summer internship program
  • Financial Awards Available - select participants will have an opportunity to earn a financial award – terms and conditions to be announced during the program

RBC Capital Markets Pathways for Women in Finance Scholarship – Australia

RBC Capital Markets is committed to fostering inclusion and workplace diversity. The RBC Capital Markets Pathways for Women in Finance Scholarship aims to advance the progression of women in finance through rewarding talented female students who are undertaking the finance major within the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Bachelor of Business and who are passionate about pursuing a career in Capital Markets.

The Scholarship aims to assist women interested in finance through direct financial support and a paid internship with RBC Capital Markets. Select applicants will advance to interviews, and successful candidates will earn A$10,000 financial award and a three month internship with RBC Capital Markets where they will gain practical work experience alongside some of the best in the industry.

Successful candidates benefit from

  • Paid Internship - Join RBC Capital Markets in Global Markets or Investment Banking as a Summer Intern in our Sydney office
  • Financial Award - A$10,000 paid over two years, $2,500 per session for the duration of the scholarship

Eligibility

Please read the following eligibility requirements and application instructions carefully before submitting; incomplete applications will not be accepted.

  • Female student enrolled in an undergraduate coursework degree within the Sydney Business School at the University of Technology Sydney
  • Completed a minimum of one year of full-time study (equivalent to 48 credit points) of UTS Bachelor of Business degree with a Finance Major and going into the second or third year of single degree or fifth or six year of combined degree;
  • A strong academic record (WAM of at least 70), varied extra-curricular participation, and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance upon graduation
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic with a strong desire to learn new concepts and skills and capable of solving complex problems
  • Excellent communicator and possess developed interpersonal skills, a strong team player
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa
