Lindsay Patrick is Managing Director and Head of Strategy, Marketing and Sustainability at RBC Capital Markets and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee.

Lindsay is responsible for the advancement of the RBC Capital Markets’ business, brand, and marketing strategy, supporting the firm’s overall growth and performance ambitions. She is a senior adviser on ESG matters to the Group Executive and the wider RBC enterprise, providing insight and guidance in respect of our Capital Markets client base and the transition to net zero. Lindsay also oversees the Sustainable Finance Group, and with her global team, spearheads the provision of solutions and advice for RBC’s institutional and corporate clients across all areas of sustainable finance that incorporates both environmental and social perspectives.

Lindsay has over two decades experience in investment banking, spanning trading floors across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. She began her career with RBC Capital Markets in Investment Banking in Toronto and spent 10 years across variety of positions in Global Equities with a global bank in London before returning to RBC Capital Markets in 2016.

Lindsay is passionate about talent development and is active in advancing important initiatives related to Diversity and Inclusion.  Within RBC, she is a mentor to numerous colleagues, supporting their growth and development across the bank.

Lindsay received her MBA with Honours in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, her BBA with Honours in International Business from Bishop’s University, is a CFA Charterholder and completed the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing. Lindsay sits on the Advisory Board for the Institute of Sustainable Finance and is recognized as leader in sustainability in Canada as a Clean50 Honoree. She is an active volunteer within her local community and serves on the Board Directors for the Oakville Community Foundation. Lindsay is married and the proud mother of four boys.

As part of the Sustainable Finance Group, Sarah works closely with the growing number of corporate and institutional clients globally who view Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors as important considerations in their corporate strategy and investment decision-making process.

Sarah joined RBC in 2011 as the bank’s first Green IT Manager. In 2013, she moved to RBC’s Corporate Sustainability Team to oversee enterprise-wide operational footprint reduction initiatives, produce ESG disclosure and support business units with the development of sustainable financial products and services. In addition, Sarah partnered with RBC’s Corporate Treasury Group to establish RBC’s Green Bond Program. The bank issued its inaugural Green Bond in April 2019 following the publication of its Green Bond Framework outlining the process for Green Bond issuance and reporting.

Sarah represents RBC Capital Markets on the Advisory Council of the Green and Social Bond Principles Executive Committee and is Vice Chair of the CSA Group Green & Transition Finance Technical Committee.

Sarah is based in Toronto, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from McGill University and an MBA in Sustainability from York University’s Schulich School of Business.

As part of the Sustainable Finance Group within RBC Capital Markets, Moses collaborates with corporate and institutional clients to deliver innovative sustainable finance solutions that integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. He joined the firm in 2021 with a focus on U.S. Capital Markets opportunities. Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Moses was Head of Digital and Sustainable Finance within the corporate strategy and venture team at Orange, where he advised on the telecommunications company’s inaugural €500m Sustainability Bond issuance and led sustainable and impact investing opportunities. Before Orange, Moses spent ten years in capital markets, corporate and investment banking, and sustainable finance at Citigroup Global Markets and Morgan Stanley. Moses holds BA and BSc degrees from Cornell University and a master’s degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University with a focus on sustainable development.

Stefano leads the bank’s UK and European Sustainable Finance efforts to deliver innovative ESG solutions for corporate and institutional clients. Stefano leverages on over 10 years of experience in renewable energy, project finance and debt capital market and sustainable finance. Stefano joined the team in 2022 from UniCredit, where he previously structured pioneering sustainable finance solutions in sectors such as Energy and Utilities, Infrastructure, Healthcare and Financial Institutions. Stefano holds a Master of Science degree from Bocconi University with a focus on finance and financial markets.

As part of the Sustainable Finance Group within RBC Capital Markets, Nicola helps lead the integration of ESG factors into Capital Markets’ core businesses globally by providing advice and developing solutions across all areas of sustainable finance for corporate and institutional clients. Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Nicola completed RBC’s Leadership Development Program and previously worked for the Government of Canada. Nicola holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, an MA in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa, and a BA in Political Science and Communication Studies from Concordia University.

As part of the Sustainable Finance Group within RBC Capital Markets, Brian helps lead the integration of ESG factors into Capital Markets’ core businesses globally by providing advice and developing solutions across all areas of sustainable finance for corporate and institutional clients. Brian joined RBC in 2013 and worked in corporate strategy for Personal and Commercial Banking and RBC Wealth Management before pursuing a career change to focus on sustainability. Following graduate school, Brian returned to RBC and joined the Corporate Sustainability team where he led RBC’s carbon neutrality and renewable energy strategy, environmental reporting and the development of the first-ever renewable energy power purchase agreement signed by a financial institution in Canada. Most recently, Brian led the global strategy and execution for the RBC Tech for Nature portfolio, a key pillar of the RBC Climate Blueprint. Brian holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and an Honours in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School.

As part of the Sustainable Finance Group within RBC Capital Markets, Dana is responsible for driving the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into RBC Capital Markets Corporate Client and Global Markets advisory businesses. Dana joined RBC in 2017 in Corporate Banking in New York covering the Consumer & Retail sector, working closely with the Sustainable Finance Group to integrate ESG considerations into corporate lending. Previously, Dana worked in ESG consulting for asset management firms and in sell-side credit research covering the banking sector at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Dana holds a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Finance from Columbia University and Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Virginia Tech, and is a SASB FSA Credential Holder.

Sara Mahaffy is a Director & ESG Strategist for RBC. Prior to joining RBC in 2017, she was a member of the Credit Suisse US Equity Strategy team from 2015-2017 and Credit Suisse Small/Mid Cap U.S. Equity Strategy team from 2010-2014. In 2021 and 2022 Sara ranked #3 in the ESG category in the Institutional Investor All America Research team poll. In 2022 she was also named to the Business Insider’s 2022 List Of Rising Stars Of Equity Research. Sara is a CFA charterholder. Sara graduated from McGill University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Honors in Investment Management.

 

 

Shelby is our lead equity analyst on the U.S. power and utility sectors. He joined RBC Capital Markets in May 2011. He has over 25 years of experience on Wall Street and has covered both debt and equity issuers across the energy and power landscape at Moody’s, UBS, Citi, BofA, and Oppenheimer.

Biraj joined our energy research team in 2013 and covers the large cap integrated energy companies. In the latest II Survey he ranked as the #7 analyst in the sector, and was the highest ranked analyst outside of the US. He is also RBC’s Deputy Head of European Research and helps support the wider management team. Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Biraj covered the metals &mining sector. Biraj studied mathematics with economics at University College London and is a CFA charterholder.

Robert is an energy infrastructure analyst, primarily covering Canadian pipeline, power and utility companies. He assumed lead coverage of this sector in early 2007, after covering power income trusts for three years. Robert joined RBC Capital Markets in 1998 in investment banking, and joined the energy infrastructure research team in 2003. He is the lead analyst for the pipelines, power and utilities team, which has been consistently top-ranked in the Greenwich and Brendan Wood surveys. Robert is a Managing Director of RBC Capital Markets.

Graeme Pearson joined RBC Capital Markets in 2013 as Head of Research, Europe & APAC. He became Head of European Equities in 2015 and also assumed responsibility as Global Head of Research in 2018. Graeme has over 20 years industry experience and prior to joining RBC was Head of EMEA Equity Research at Nomura International. Before that, he led Lehman Brothers' No. 1-ranked European telecom services team for several years. Graeme began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he became a Chartered Accountant.

Mark Odendahl is a Managing Director and the Head of U.S. Research. Mark has over 20 years of capital markets experience. Mark joined RBC in 2008 and ran the RBC Midwest equity sales region until 2019. Prior to RBC, Mark held equity sales positions at Wachovia and Deutsche Bank/Alex Brown. Mark received his BS in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University.

Michael Hall is Head of European Research and Global Head of Research Product Management. Alongside others in research management, he is responsible for developing and managing RBC’s research product strategy. Michael joined our research department in 2019 following his tenure as Head of RBC’s European Equity Sales. Before joining RBC in 2011, Michael spent 5 years in equity sales at UBS and 7 years as a research analyst with Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining the City, he served as an Officer with the British Army.

 

Jim Wolfe is the Co-Head of US Investment Banking. He joined RBC in June 2008 after spending 15 years at Bear Stearns where he served as Senior Managing Director in the Leveraged Finance Group.

Jim became Co-Head of U.S. Investment Banking in June 2018. He shares responsibility for coverage of banking clients and prospects, including corporate finance industry groups, mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, leveraged finance, and loan and high-yield capital markets teams. He also serves on the Global Capital Markets and U.S. Regional Operating Committees and he is a member of the firm’s Commitments Committee.

Over the past 26 years, Jim has completed transactions of all sizes across the full spectrum of industry sectors. In his previous role, Jim was responsible for the firm’s leveraged finance business in the U.S and Europe, leading an experienced team of specialized professionals to help clients raise the capital in connection with corporate acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancings.

Jim received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California and MBA from Wharton. He served on the Board of Trustees at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, CT from 2012-2018 and he and his wife currently serve as chairs of the Parents Executive Committee of Bowdoin College.

Sean leads the Global Investment Banking team within Australia offering clients full service investment banking capabilities across advisory, equity capital markets, corporate banking, leveraged finance, debt capital markets and equities research, sales and trading.

Sean joined RBC in 2014 to lead its capital structuring advisory business in Australia. Prior to RBC, Sean worked for Macquarie Bank in New York where he was a senior member of its principal credit business.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Australian National University, Canberra.

Trevor Gardner is Head of Canadian Investment Banking and is a member of the Capital Markets Operating Committee. Before taking on his current role he was Co-Head of Canadian Energy Investment Banking between 2014 and 2019. He is an executive member of RBC Capital Markets Canadian Diversity Leadership Council.

Trevor is involved in several community initiatives, including Chair of the Board of Directors for YMCA Calgary and serving as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. 

Trevor graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University with Honours, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Matthew Stopnik is the Head of Global Investment Banking. He joined RBC Capital Markets in January 2015 as the Co-Head of Financial Sponsors. Prior to joining RBC, Matthew spent 20 years at UBS Investment Bank where his most recent role was serving as its U.S. Head of Financial Sponsors.

At RBC, Matthew is responsible for U.S. Investment Banking. He shares responsibility for coverage of banking clients and prospects, including corporate finance industry groups, mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, leveraged finance, and loan and high-yield capital markets teams. Matthew is also responsible for managing RBC’s relationships with some of the largest and most active private equity firms in the world. He serves on the firm’s Global Capital Markets and U.S. Regional Operating Committees and he is a member of the firm’s Commitments Committee.

Matthew is Vice Chair and a member of the Board of Trustees of the TEAK Fellowship, a member of the Board of Youth, INC. and a David Rockefeller Fellow of the Partnership for New York City. He received a B.A from the University of Michigan. Matthew and his wife live in New York City with their two children.

Dominic Hudson leads our investment banking sector, product and country teams across Europe and APAC, and is a member of the RBC Capital Markets Operating Committee.

Dominic is responsible for executing the regional growth strategy for our investment banking franchises in Europe and APAC, focused on achieving our client, revenue and market share goals, building upon our existing robust client franchise and deepening our incredibly strong bench of talent.

Dominic began his career as a chartered accountant at Ernst & Young. He then held roles at Deutsche Bank and Rothschild before joining RBC in 2006 to lead our infrastructure, transport and utilities team in Australia. In 2012, he was appointed as Head of Investment Banking Asia-Pacific and then chief country officer Head for RBC Capital Markets Australia in 2015.

Dominic was appointed to the newly-created position of Head of European Sector Coverage in 2018, relocating to the UK. In this role, he was instrumental in the growth of our ten industry teams providing strong connectivity across sectors, products and European country teams, before assuming his current role of Head of Investment Banking, Europe and APAC in November 2022.
