For over a decade, RBC Capital Markets colleagues have been biking to support Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) by raising funds for rare cancer research through Cycle for Survival.

We are proud to be a part of this nationwide movement and are thrilled to announce that we recently received the 2023–2024 Cycle for Survival Game Changer Award as Corporate Team of the Year! This annual award recognizes exemplary leadership, generosity, and unwavering dedication to Cycle for Survival’s pursuit of beating rare cancers.

From our first event in 2013, RBC Capital Markets has raised over $2 million for rare cancer research at MSK, with colleagues participating across the U.S. and Canada. So far this season, our teams collectively raised more than $350,000—our highest fundraising total to date. This year, we were also the Presenting Sponsor of the 2024 New York City Corporate Ride.

The Race Against Pediatric Cancer

Pediatric cancer remains the #1 disease-related cause of death for children in the U.S. Although pediatric cancer is thankfully uncommon, receiving a diagnosis, finding knowledgeable doctors, and receiving effective treatments are significant challenges for many families.

Pediatric cancer patients and their families need our support and cancer centers like MSK need funding for research, cancer care, and education programs to train the next generation of specialists.

Our longstanding commitment and partnership with MSK and MSK Kids began in 2013. This collaboration led to the launch of the RBC Initiative in Pediatric Immuno-Oncology in 2022, to help scientists at MSK Kids harness the power of the immune system to fight pediatric cancer. We have actively supported this important research program at MSK Kids through donations and events like Cycle for Survival and our flagship fundraiser, RBC Race for the Kids. The RBC Foundation USA is also a major supporter of this important cause.

Together, We Are Truly Making an Impact

The award this year is a testament to the inspiring culture of volunteerism and community engagement at RBC Capital Markets. A big thank you to all our colleagues who have dedicated their time, energy, and sweat to support Cycle for Survival and our ambition to advance rare cancer research at MSK. Together, we are truly making an impact.

About Cycle for Survival: An Unstoppable Movement

Cycle for Survival is the official rare cancer fundraising program for MSK. The event was founded by an MSK patient, Jennifer Goodman Linn, and her husband, Dave. After being diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare cancer, and receiving treatment at MSK, Jen launched the event to give back and fund critical research.

What started as a single stationary cycling event, Cycle for Survival has become a national movement, with dozens of fundraising events occurring across the U.S. every year. All funds raised go directly to supporting rare cancer research and clinical trials at MSK.

Since 2007, the Cycle for Survival community has raised more than $362 million for research at MSK, fueling countless lifesaving advances and benefiting people worldwide.
