Fostering inclusivity is a core priority for Royal Bank of Canada and one that came to life recently in our Sydney office, when RBC came together with two of our major partners Bear Cottage and Theatre Royal Sydney, to deliver a unique theatre experience for children with life limiting and terminal conditions.
During the summer break a group of patients from Bear Cottage together with their families and carers were hosted at the Theatre Royal Sydney for the delightful Bluey’s Big Play, a theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award-winning children’s television series with everyone’s favourite characters bought to life by world- class puppeteers.
Bluey, a blue heeler pup joined her little sister Bingo and parents Chilli and Bandit for a brand-new story with music created exclusively for the stage show.
Following the show, the young people were treated to an exclusive behind the scenes meet and greet with Bluey and photo opportunity.
Bear Cottage is a children’s hospice that provides respite, symptom management, end of life care and after death care to children from birth to 18 years with life limiting and terminal conditions. Psychosocial care and support are also provided to parents, siblings and grandparents.
"I'm so proud we're able to give these families who are going through such a tough time, the opportunity to step away and create some very special memories"
Natalie Vanstone, Head of Global Markets, Australia, RBC Capital Markets
Opportunities like this at the Theatre Royal Sydney give these families the chance to step away for a moment and experience something the might not be able to.
Thank you, Theatre Royal Sydney, BBC Studios, Andrew Kay and Windmill Theatre Co, for making this event possible.
