RBC Culture & Discovery Day – Spring 2024

RBC’s culture is defined by core values that represent what we believe in and what we stand for. They guide, unite and inspire us to have impact and do what’s right. These values set the tone for our culture and unify us across geographies and businesses. Creating a positive social impact is integral to how we do business and core to our culture.

This annual event is intended for first- and second-year undergraduate students. The purpose of the program is to help students expand their RBC network, learn about student opportunities, and prepare to launch a meaningful career at the firm. Students will experience first hand the culture of RBC and see how we are guided by our mission to help clients thrive and communities prosper.


Eligibility

  • You are a first- or second-year student enrolled in an undergraduate program* in an accredited university or college in Canada
  • You are genuinely interested in D&I and in exploring careers at RBC

*This event is open to all irst- or second-year university and college students from all academic programs (Business, Commerce/Finance, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), and others).

Application Requirements & Selection Process

  • To apply for this event, please submit an updated, one page resume (PDF format preferred) that showcases your cumulative GPA by the application deadline
  • Following the application deadline, applications will be reviewed by a team of RBC early talent professionals
  • Select, eligible applicants will be invited to join the event; additional event specifics will be provided to all participants**

**Selected participants will be responsible for arranging travel to and from the event independently.

RBC Capital Markets Culture & Discovery Day - Spring 2024

RBC Capital Markets Culture & Discovery Day 2024 highlights our diverse and inclusive culture while creating an opportunity for first-year college students to expand their RBC network and discover their passion. The day will spotlight the firm’s active Employee Resource Group network and our many student programs and internships across the U.S. Capital Markets platform.

On Friday, April 5th, 2024, selected students will participate in an in-person, full-day program (10:00 am — 3:00 pm ET) led in partnership with RBC’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which include:

  • RWomen: fostering women’s professional development and career aspirations.
  • RBC PRIDE: supporting and connecting LGBTQ+ community members and Allies.
  • RBC Multicultural Employee Alliance (MEA): embracing and promoting multicultural backgrounds.
  • RVets: honoring and connecting Veterans and their families.
  • RFuture: empowering employees and developing the next generation of leaders.
  • RHeart: supporting and connecting those with visible/invisible disabilities and diverse abilities.
  • RFamily: uniting colleagues with family care responsibilities and building a support system that helps employees thrive.

Eligibility

  • You are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program* in an accredited university or college in the U.S. with an expected graduation date between December 2026 - Spring 2027
  • You have a keen interest in the financial services industry as well as diversity and inclusion

RBC Capital Markets U.K. Spring Insights Programmes – 2024

We have four Spring Insight Programmes available:

RBC Driving Diversity Spring Insight Programme:  2-day programme for Black, Asian, Mixed Ethnicity students from all degree disciplines. You will meet and learn from inspiring experts within the bank, meet our graduates, complete case studies, visit the trading floor and network with members of our Multicultural Employee Alliance Employee resource group. This programme is now closed to applications.

RBC Empowering Women Spring Insight Programme: 2-day programme for female students or those who identify as female from all degree disciplines. You will meet and learn from inspiring female experts within the bank, meet our graduates, complete case studies, visit the trading floor and network with members of our RWOMEN Employee resource group. This programme is now closed to applications.

RBC STEM into Banking Spring Insight Programme: 2-day programme for students studying a STEM Subject. You will meet technology experts from sales, trading, investment banking and technology to gain an insight into how STEM skills are utilized across an investment banking environment and how STEM professionals collaborate to meet the needs of the business. You will meet and learn from inspiring experts within the bank, meet our graduates, complete case studies, visit the trading floor and network with members of our Employee resource groups. RBC Discover your Future Spring Insight Programme: 2-day programme for students from all degree disciplines. You will meet and learn from inspiring experts within the bank, meet our graduates, complete case studies, visit the trading floor and network with members of our Employee resource groups. This programme is now closed to applications.

Application Review & Selection Process Timeline

  • Once you have submitted your application and CV, you will complete a series of psychometric online tests
  • If you successfully pass the online tests, your application will be reviewed by the Campus Recruitment team
  • Select eligible students will advance to a telephone interview with a member of the business
  • Successful candidates will be invited to join the Spring Insight programme
