The Municipal Finance Summer Analyst provides analytical, research and transactional support to investment bankers and associates in all departmental work activities relating to the structuring and underwriting and issuance of negotiated bonds, and/or related financial advisory services.

The program provides a hands-on experience of public finance investment banking in which Summer Analysts will be directly involved in supporting book-run financings, preparing analysis for competitive proposal requests, as well as client service related analysis. Summer Analysts are considered generalists which will enable them to be staffed with multiple industry groups within the department to provide the broadest exposure possible. Summer Analysts can expect to develop their foundations in:

  • Preparing credit, operating and capital structure models and related financial analyses for potential and actual capital markets transactions
  • Organizing and analyzing information necessary to prepare proposals, client presentations, offering statements and marketing materials
  • Understanding and developing the ability to communicate financing alternatives in originating, structuring and marketing an issue and our firm wide capabilities

The Finance Department's core function is to manage RBC's risk utilizing financial controls. The group uses a variety of measurement metrics and limits. Key responsibilities of Risk Management are:
