Over 330 Team RBC runners joined over 50,000 other participants this August to celebrate the TCS Sydney Marathon’s first year as an Abbot World Marathon Major. In our second year as a major partner of the event RBC Race for the Kids proudly raised over A$132,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Sydney, helping them reach an overall fundraising total of more than A$260,000. This achievement reflects not only RBC’s longstanding partnership with RMHC Sydney but also our commitment to local, youth charities.
RMHC Sydney plays a vital role in providing a “home away from home” for families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. By offering a safe and supportive environment, they ensure families can stay close to their children as they navigate serious medical journeys.
RBC employees, clients, friends, and family members came together to participate in the 5km, 10km, and marathon events across Saturday, 30 August, and Sunday, 31 August 2025. They joined elite runners Eliud Kipchoge and Sifan Hussein on the spectacular Sydney course that look participants over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to finish at the iconic Sydney Opera House. The atmosphere was electric on what was a perfect , weekend, made even more memorable as the TCS Sydney Marathon debuted as the seventh prestigious Abbott World Marathon Major.
“Today’s event is a great example of RBC living its purpose of helping communities prosper,”
Sean Miller, Head of Investment Banking, Australia, RBC Capital Markets.
Globally, the RBC Race for the Kids initiative has raised more than CAD $100 million for youth-focused charities, and we are proud to continue making a meaningful impact in Sydney.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and supported this year’s wonderful event.
