On Saturday, October 11th, Hyde Park transformed into a vibrant wave of energy as over 10,000 participants gathered at London's iconic park for the spectacular 16th RBC Race for the Kids. The atmosphere was buzzing as 2,500 Team RBC employees, friends, and families came together with thousands of fellow runners, all driven by one powerful mission: supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Together, they achieved an extraordinary milestone, raising a record-breaking £1.5 million to fund the life-changing Children’s Cancer Centre.
Since its inception in 2010, RBC Race for the Kids London has grown into the largest event in the global Race series, which has collectively raised over C$110 million for youth-focused causes worldwide. In London alone, the partnership with GOSH Charity has raised more than £11 million, directly benefiting children and their families through pioneering medical care, innovative treatments, and vital family support.
This year’s event embodied RBC’s purpose of helping communities prosper. Runners of all ages conquered the 2k and 5k routes, through Hyde Park's stunning autumn landscape, energized by enthusiastic crowds and the park's iconic backdrop. The event village buzzed with activities, from circus skills workshops and bungee trampolines to arts and crafts and stage performances.
Looking ahead: building a brighter future together
The funds raised from this year's race will contribute to GOSH's ambitious new Children's Cancer Centre, a £350 million project that will provide state-of-the-art care for children with the most complex cancers. As a Founder Partner of this groundbreaking initiative, RBC has committed to raising £3 million to help create a world-leading facility that will transform care for young cancer patients and their families.
This new centre will integrate cutting-edge technology, specialized chemotherapy facilities, and comprehensive holistic support spaces, ensuring that every child not only survives but has the opportunity to thrive. The project represents a testament to the enduring partnership between RBC and GOSH Charity, which has already delivered transformative spaces such as the RBC Neurosciences Unit and Royal Bank of Canada House.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this year’s RBC Race for the Kids London such a resounding success. From the efforts of Team RBC to the incredible generosity of donors and the enthusiasm of participants, none of this would have been possible without your support. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
