The 2025 Global ESG Fixed Income Investor Survey offers insights into investor behavior, preferences, and the driving forces behind ESG integration in fixed income portfolios.

1. Demand for sustainable funds remains resilient:

Over 60% of investors across regions experienced stable or increased demand for sustainable funds, underscoring persistent demand for ESG-focused investment opportunities globally.

2. ESG data integration remains a top priority:

ESG data collection and integration top the list of fixed income investor priorities for 2025. Data providers like Bloomberg, MSCI and Sustainalytics are the go-to sources for third-party data, with most investors utilizing at least two providers to fulfill their ESG data needs.

3. Green Bonds lead, but Sustainability-Linked Bonds face headwinds:

Green Bonds remain the preferred sustainable bond label, appealing to the majority of investors. However, the proportion of investors actively investing in Sustainability-Linked Bonds has decreased compared to the previous year, on the back of continued headwinds.
