Team RBC saddled up side by side with yellow flag cancer survivors to raise funds for cancer research. The two-day Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer cycling fundraiser concluded on June 10th raising an incredible $18.3 Million for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre - one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. That brings the 11 year total to an impactful $194 Million, making it Canada’s largest athletic fundraiser.

More than 200 riders from team RBC (over 20‎ of them from RBC Capital Markets) joined 4,500+ participants to ride 219km from Toronto to Niagara over two days. ‎As an official sponsor of the event, RBC fielded one of the largest teams raising $554,000 - taking the top place within the financial services sector.

It was an amazing experience, riding over 100+ km per day with cancer survivors and hearing their emotional stories of the direct impact the fundraising has made over the years. The RBC Capital Markets team was also accompanied by one of the world leading Immunotherapy researchers, Dr. Pam Ohashi, who inspired and educated the group on how the funds are allocated - making the translation between fundraising and the specific projects the event is supporting. These essential funds fuel innovation and help improve the standards of care not only for those in Ontario, but for all those afflicted with cancer around the world.
